Learn How to wrestle an Iguana
Iguana wrestling is one of my all time favorite wrestling matches. I think if you watch the movie Kingpin, that film, you will get a pretty good idea what I am talking about. Anyway, here are some tips on how to do it. If you have never been involved in this sort of thing before, please do not worry, I won’t spoil it for you.
First, I want to tell you something very important. When you sign up for the hockey, the league always has a written rule on how you are suppose to do certain things. The one that applies to me and many of you, is that you are not supposed to throw any of your own stuff at the ref. For instance, they will have a written rule that you are not supposed to hit the ref while they are giving you a penalty. So, every night you will go out and those guys will be, oh, middle of the bar having a beer and everybody else is like “What the hell was that guy thinking”.
Another rule that I have seen recently applied to iguana wrestling is that you are supposed to roll onto your opponent when you get out from the guard. Usually when you are on top of somebody with your back to the fence, they cannot roll. You see, when they are rolling to the ground, they are likely to get zapped or stomped. So, if you see a guy who is trying to escape, if you know where his back is, you can stomp him and he will not be able to get out of the guard.
Also, when you are trying to get out from the guard, sometimes a guy will try to flip out. What you don’t want to do is to try and throw your leg on him in a way that will actually send him off balance and make him fall to the ground. In my opinion, leg drops count as throws and you should never try to execute them while you are in a standing position. If you ever have to throw someone, always do it when you are on your knees.
One last thing that you need to watch out for, is the turn. The turn is probably the most difficult part of the match for beginners. There are a lot of guys who try to turn you and they actually succeed about 75% of the time. The key is to not allow them to turn you. In order to do this, a guy has to either turn around on you or come to you.
In order to turn you, they will either hit a flying knee, spin around and stomp on you, or just lift you up and stomp you. The first two are the least effective, but the others will really hurt. When you are being turned, I recommend staying down on the mat. You will need to stay down until the ref stands you both up. They will usually call you to your feet once they have stood you both up.
If you ever need to go to the hospital or anything like that, then there are several things that you can do to help your overall performance. The first is that you can get some muscle relaxers or anti-anxiety meds. The second is to get a few extra minutes in the ring and spend the time watching your matches. The third thing you can do is cut your hair so that you won’t be distracted by the hair as you wrestle.
Iguanas are great animals to watch when you are wrestling. They are strong, fast, and graceful. If you are dedicated to your training, then you will get very good at iguana wrestling. Good luck and happy wrestling!
