Your basic head shape should look something like that of an adult human with the eyes being the usual human eyes with a slightly larger pupil. Your nose will be shaped a little differently as well and it should be about two to three times as wide as your eye and slightly narrower.

Nose – Next, you will want to learn how to properly draw the shape of the snake‘s nose. This will help you with the next step in learning how to draw an iguana drawing. The narrow end of the snout is called the slit and it should be about half as wide as your narrow eye. The slit will also be rounded on the side that extends toward the mouth. This helps to ensure that your coloring activities are accurate.

Tail – Finally, you need to know how to properly draw the tail of the iguana. Start by holding one of your hands at the base of your iguana’s tail and make sure that it is straight. Then start to move your hand up the snake’s length slowly and carefully. You will want to have two of your fingers inside of its body as you go along. Be careful not to draw more than a single line because this may cause the limb to become disjointed. If need be, re-draw the line in a different position.

Foreleg – Next, you will begin to learn how to draw a foreleg. Hold your hand about a half inch from the end of the foreleg, put it on the bottom of the iguana’s leg and make sure it is straight. Go up one step at a time when you are learning how to draw a foreleg. After you have drawn all of the muscles in the leg and they are the same size as each other, you will know it is time to go back and do the other leg.

Tail – The last step in learning how to draw an iguana cartoon is to draw the tail. Again, make sure to keep the tail straight and remember to follow the same steps from before.
